Hi, there,

Recently, I tried to login gitlab by gitlab.com, but failed.
What’s the matter?

Hi @lirw1984,

I just tried to authenticate to our Gitlab instance, using my Gitlab.com account. It worked.

Can you try again, then tell me the exact time of the test, to make it easier for me to find information in the Gitlab logs?

Thanks in advance,

Sébastien

Hi @luc and @sdinot ,

Thank you two.

I just tried twice, about 2023-10-30 00:53~00:55 UTC.

Hi @lirw1984,

It looks like you have two accounts on our Gitlab instance:

  • The first - lirw1984 - was automatically deactivated by Gitlab after 90 days without connection (I can reactivate it). It had been created locally in June 2018.
  • The second - lirw19841 - still active, was created in novembe 2021 following a connection via the OAuth GitHub.com service.

None of these accounts is associated with an identity on the Gitlab.com forge.

Hello,

A shout out to people using Orekit’s gitlab via GitHub: the latter now requires double factor authentication. Since October 12th if I recall correctly.

Best,
Romain.

That’s right. Personally, I use 2FA authentication wherever possible, including Orekit’s forge.

Hi @sdinot ,

Thank you so much. These two accounts are mine. I have replied the emails.

Please merge them. Or just keep lirw19841, since there is nothing of account lirw1984.

Best,
Rongwang

Problem solved, I sent a private message to Rongwang.

Hi,

Thank you all.

Best,
